The General has become a hot seller for Polaris this season and for good reason. The 1000cc powered Sport-Ute has redefined the market when it comes to a multi-purpose vehicle that delivers big on sport performance.
As with any side-x-side, outfitting it with larger tires is one of the first items to check off the list. Out of the box, the General comes with 27-inch tires and is clutched for 0-3500-feet elevation and while performance is similar to its sister RZR 1000 S the General is geared lower. Swapping out the tires for 28-inchers or larger will drag down performance and put extra strain on the belt leading to poor engagement and premature failure.
Dalton’s answer to all this is its new DUV P10G clutch kit. Coming complete with optional secondary springs and Dalton’s Quick Adjust Flyweights this kit can optimally be set up for different tire sizes and conditions and back again to the original 27-inchers if you wish. As with other kits from Dalton performance improvements center on increased traction and quicker acceleration along with smoother back shifting so that you can roll through corners without excessive load.
