Although not the most popular pure sport ATV with the California dune crowd, the Bombardier DS 650 has amassed impressive racing laurels including a win at Paris/Dakar and the grueling SCORE Baja 1000 last fall.
Two years ago the DS moved to more mainstream with a shorter rear swing arm and a narrower stance so it would fit on established two-track trails. These tweaks netted a solid improvement in both handling and acceleration, especially when getting sideways or pulling wheelies on command.
The DS uses a brawny Rotax 4-valve single and generates more stump pulling torque than any other pure sport built.
The Baja is jammed with a bundle of accessories including nerf bars, pencil beam off-road lights bead braced rims and shock covers.
