Union, SC (April 1, 2009) — The 2009 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series comes to Union, South Carolina this weekend for the 2009 Big Buck GNCC. The race could either make the way a little clearer for one ATV rider, or a fourth winner will step up to make the road to the championship even more challenging.
This year’s GNCC Championship could fall into the hands of any ATV rider, as each race has seen a new winner-including factory sponsored riders like Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chris Borich and Yamaha’s Taylor Kiser, who leads the GNCC standings. and privateer Bryan Cook
Nine-time-champion Bill Ballance had yet to see the podium until round three, enduring a rough comeback after rib surgery. Ballance has said that this will be his last season of racing, but if he plans to retire with ten-straight GNCC Championships, he needs to get back into victory lane soon.
KTM’s Adam McGill and Warnert Can-Am’s Chris Bithell will also be close behind in the chase for the victory. Both have done well so far this year, staying at the top of the pack in all three rounds. McGill won the Big Buck GNCC last year as well and has finished on the podium in each race this year, while Bithell searches for his first podium after leading in Georgia earlier this season, and then running out of fuel.
