Kymco just rocked our world with the introduction of a peppy new fuel injected 450cc engine available in the same chassis as its downsized MXU and Maxxer ATV.
We’ve been impressed with everything Kymco has been bringing to market lately from the 375 mill introÂ’d a few short years back to its UXV side-x-side (now available with a fuel injected 500 – sweet!).
This new 450cc mill though adds some serious legs to these scaled-down ATVs. The MXU is a powerful and capable utility ATV. Load up the racks with all your gear and this quad will get you from the trailer to the hunt camp over just about any terrain and will get you there quick! Not a hunter? Just hit the trails whenever and you’ll come back with a smile on your face.
The Maxxer is more sport focused than the utility-minded MXU. ItÂ’s lighter with more aggressive styling and no racks. Blasting through trails you can easily blip the throttle and get the front tires up. Fuel delivery is smooth and linear and the increase in power is immediately noticeable at each squeeze of your thumb.
The bonus with the Maxxer compared to say a Yamaha Wolverine or a Polaris Scrambler is its fully independent rear suspension, which offers a cushy ride over rough, rutted out trails.
We thought the Maxxer was a cool ATV when it was released in the 375, but with the new fuel injected 450 under seat, squeeze the throttle and hold on tight!
There’s plenty more to talk about on these ATVs and you can read our full report about Kymco’s latest offerings in an upcoming issue of Dirt Trax Magazine!
