Can’t Decide Between A Grizz or A Rincon

Question:

We currently own a Honda 450 Foreman. We’re very impressed with how tough and durable it is, but it is not great on speed. We take alot of trips of between 100 to 300km per trip.

We want to upgrade to a bigger ATV and are considering either a Yamaha Grizzly 700 or the Honda 700 Rincon. Taking into consideration durability, toughness and speed, what would be our best buy for our money and what are the pros and cons of each?

Thanks,

Gino and Patricia

Response:

Thanks for your email!

First, it sounds like you’re happy with your Honda – mostly.

I would be concerned firstly with the relationship you have with your dealer. If you have a good dealer now, stick with him (or her). That will mean more than anything in a new ATV purchase.

The ATV’s you’ve asked about are both good models. In our experience the new Grizz 700 EFI is significantly faster (at top speed) than the Honda. The Grizz will run past 60 mph – handily. The Rincon is less likely to achieve top speed #’s in this range.

From a reliability standpoint – both these ATV’s are very durable and will stand-up to the abuse you can throw at it. I wouldn’t be afraid of either.

Good luck!
