LetÂ’s face it, you probably aren’t going to get rich being an offroad racer. Trying to get a paycheck from the sport is a difficult task and most often, you spend much more money than you will ever make back.
If you’re talented, have the ability to win races and are able to market yourself to a successful paycheck then you are the exception to the rule and exceptionally lucky.
Most people will never understand that racers do what they do primarily because they love it. Racing is a great way to release stress. It teaches discipline and to set goals for yourself and strive to achieve them.
There are other elements to racing that an outsider may never consider either. The racing community is like a second family to most and makes going to the races on weekends like a family reunion or yearlong adventure in camping trips. You or your children can meet some of the nicest people and create some great friendships there.
I personally donÂ’t think I would be the person I am today without my early days in racing. So what are you waiting for? Get out there!
