GBC Motorsports’ Pro-Am rider Dylan Dixon finished 7th in Round 2 of the WORCS ATV series at Buffalo Bills in Primm, Nevada yesterday.
Coming off of a 5th place showing in the opening round at a soggy Glen Helen, GBC Pro-Am racer Dylan Dixon took his GBC Race Rex tires to the deserts of Nevada for Round 2 of the WORCS ATV action.
Despite some brutally tough track conditions and some high winds kicking up some dust, Dixon managed to finish in 7th place after a tough day of racing.
The race began with a dead-engine start which proved challenging for Dixon, who got off to a slow start. Nevertheless he managed to improve his early 12th place position up to 8th by the end of the first lap. By the end of Lap 2, Dixon had worked his way into 6th and was charging on the 5th place rider as things took a turn for the worse.
As Dylan exited the pit section of the track he high-sided and went down. By the time he got back on his quad and going again he had dropped back to 18th.
Throughout the remaining laps, however, Dixon continued to fight his way towards the front and never gave up on the race, making a last-second move into 7th just before the checkered flag.
GBC’s Dylan Dixon sits in 3rd place in the points standings after two rounds of racing, with Round 3 slated for March 16-18 at Crazy Horse in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
The Primm round of WORCS ATV racing was also a special occasion, as the Eichner Family Fundraiser was onsite to help raise money for ATV legend Doug EichnerÂ’s family, whose wife Joan is battling cancer.
In addition to selling special t-shirts and accepting donations, the group auctioned off some donated equipment including autographed jerseys from various racers, a set of X-Rex tires from GBC, and a Polaris ATV.
