With all the scuttle focused on Can-Am's Renegade there's little doubt Polaris, who really started the 4x4 Sport ATV sensation, has been carefully watching the Renegade hype.

Would it be much of a stretch for Polaris to strip down a Sportsman 800 EFI and produce a lighter, sportier version of the venerable Scrambler?

The gauntlet has been laid down and it looks like all the barriers of extreme performance in a 4-wheel drive wrapper are broken.

Only weight is the prime consideration to get the market fully focused on this emerging category.
